Teaching Whaea Annette Netbook Skills















I am teaching Whaea Annette different skills using a net book.
I showed Whaea Annette how to open a new tab and close it by using shortcut keys.
I also showed her what a popplet was and how we use it for our learning.
We also went into other sites like lucid charts and e-Asstle i had fun teaching Whaea Annette my  net book skills.

Team Building Game




      

                Team building game


Today I learnt about building team work we were put into groups of 6 to 7 people at first. Then we had to challenge against the boys. In the girls group we were communicating and  looking for different ways to untangle ourselves  so we worked together as a team.
It was difficult when some of the girls were going different ways,but then it got easier when they were guiding each other to the right position. Just by talking to each other helped.

New Zealand's shake out day

Today was New Zealand's national shake out day.At 9.26am there was an earthquake drill.I was at my desk,so I dropped ,covered and held to stay safe.One thing we did really well at T.P.S was moved fast.
One thing i want to work on next time is to Take it more seriously  our meeting place is The hall remember in the event of a earthquake..Drop,cover,hold!!!

Past to present 2012

Here is a picture of the VennDiagram Caprice and I have created. Our VennDiagram is about what we use today to plant and what the Maori people used to plant in the olden days! My observation report

Here is a link to an example of an observation report.  You can use this example to guide your writing.  

Try to use as much science vocabulary that you can.  E.g. instead of saying ‘sucked up the water’ you could say ‘absorbed the water through the stem’

WALT write an observation report

Introduction:

The first paragraph should introduce what you are going to inform the audience about.  

e.g. This term we have been learning about plants...
On August the 10th 2012, our group gathered a couple of plastic cups, the flowers and some water.We put the flowers into their own cups and watered them.There was a dandelion and a daisy.   
Procedure:

Tell your audience exactly what you did and how you did it.  You might use commas to list your actions.

You might use words like:  when, then, after that...
The first day of our procedure, the plants were fine, until the dandelion was put in the dark. but we put daisy in the sun for twelve to twenty four hours.
Observations:

Tell your audience what you noticed.  What were the changes?  Why do you think those changes happened?  What were some problems?

You might use words like: on the first day, noticed, observed, changed...
The next day, we went to see dandelion and daisy. When we saw dandelion, some of the leaves we dead  and all of the leaves were hanging down like they were sad.But when we saw daisy she looked as good as new.
Conclusion:Tell your audience what you learned from the experiment.  What were the key things that you found out

You might use words like:  I discovered, I realised, I learned that...
I learnt that if you put a flower in the dark, then it will die but if you leave it in the sun and water it then it will be as good as new everyday






If you don’t want your flowers to die then don’t put them in the dark.

Movie magic Evaluation

I think that Good actors is the most important element to movie making because...

If you want to make a movie you have to have to have good actors to make it entertain people.

I put a tripod second because...

 you need a steady camera to make the movie look right.


I think the least important element is good editing because... 
 you need to do  everything else (filming, script writing, storyboarding) before you start editing so it comes last.

Room 8 Speeches

Room 8 have been studying Movie Magic.  Part of making movies, is speaking clearly.  We put this into practice by planning, crafting, practicing and presenting speeches.  The topics we chose, were topics that would influence the thinking of others.  We hope you enjoy!

Comparing Movies
